A unique birthday party lead us to an amazing food experience. As soon as we arrived at Noma, the entire kitchen staff was there to welcome us. They served us a 20 course dinner…. it was a journey teaching us about the Nordic kitchen.
” In an effort to shape our way of cooking, we look to our landscape and delve into our ingredients and culture, hoping to rediscover our history and shape our future.” Noma
What I especially liked about this night out, was the atmosphere. The restaurant itself is beautiful, located in an old warehouse next to Copenhagen’s harbour. The staff was super friendly and seemed to enjoy explaining us all the unique preparations needed to create the courses. They made you feel comfortable, even when we were making pictures of every meal hihi.
The food & interior are 100% matched to Noma’s philosophy. This entails local sourcing of ingredients, simplicity on the plate, ancients Nordic preparation methods(not my favorite) and of course only organic and natural ingredients staying close to nature.
The dinner ended with a guided tour by the pastry chef. She showed us the entire kitchen, including the famous test kitchen and staff canteen. What a cool way to experience Nordic lifestyle and food.
